SB Nation New York Player Of the Week, 09.25.12: Ichiro Suzuki, Yankees

Ichiro Suzuki won AL Player of the Week honors after going 15-for-25 with two home runs, five RBIs and seven runs in the New York Yankees' latest home stand. He has also earned the honor of being the SB Nation New York Player of the Week for his efforts.

Ichiro, 38, has turned back the clock since joining the Yankees. He has hit .328 with 5 home runs, 23 RBI and 12 stolen bases in 58 games for New York. With the Seattle Mariners he hit only .261 in 95 games.

Honorable Mentions

- Andre Brown and Ramses Barden might be replacement players for the New York Giants, but they are certainly nothing like the replacement referees mucking up things left and right around the NFL Brown (20 carries, 113 yards) and Barden (9 catches, 138 yards) had huge games subbing for injured players in the Giants' 36-7 victory over the Carolina Panthers.

- Santonio Holmes of the New York Jets caught 9 passes for 147 yards in a 23-20 overtime victory over the Miami Dolphins.

- Gary Nova of Rutgers had a career day in a 35-26 victory over Arkansas. Nova was named Big East Offensive Player of the Week after completing 25-of-35 passes for 397 yards and 5 touchdowns.
