Two more touchdowns in the third quarter have helped the visiting Rutgers Scarlet Knights take a 28-13 lead over the Arkansas Razorbacks in a non-conference showdown that has reached the end of the third quarter.
Rutgers' sophomore quarterback Gary Nova has been sharp, completing 20 of 29 passes for 273 yards and four touchdowns. Wide receiver Brandon Coleman has caught two of Nova's touchdown throws, the last giving the Scarlet Knights (3-0) a 21-10 lead with 10:33 to go in the third quarter.
After Arkansas tacked on a field goal -- a 27-yarder from kicker Zach Hocker -- Nova, again, led a long touchdown drive that ended with a two-yard reception by Paul Carrezola. The score ended a seven-play, 75-yard march that ended with 2:24 to go in the third quarter.
So far, Rutgers is making a living on long scoring drives, as all of them have been 60 yards or more.
