Sports On TV, 09/22: Yankees, Mets, Syracuse And Rutgers In Action

We've reached the weekend, and with it, college football. Week 4 has so much to watch, you may as well not get up from your couch. Both baseball teams and football teams are in action, as well as a slate of tantalizing games from outside the tri-state area.

Baseball

New York Yankees vs. Oakland Athletics, 1:05 p.m. ET, YES Network: The Yanks will try to extend their one-game lead over the Baltimore Orioles in the A.L. East in this day game against Wild Card contenders from the left coast. Ivan Nova takes the hill against Travis Blackley, and Nova's looking to get back on track after having combined a combined 12 runs in his last three starts.

New York Mets vs. Miami Marlins, 1:10 p.m. ET, WPIX: The Mets have had an abysmal second half of the season, but whenever R.A. Dickey takes the hill — which he will be doing Saturday afternoon — it's appointment television. The knuckleballer only has a few starts left in this magical, Cy Young-candidate season, so watch him while you can.

College Football

Syracuse Orange at Minnesota Golden Gophers, 8 p.m. ET Big Ten Network: The Orange go for win No. 2 in the heart of the Land of 10,000 Lakes against the Gophers (3-0). The Orange are the first non-cupcake team the Gophers have faced, so Doug Marrone's squad shouldn't be the least bit intimidated by its opponent's record. Plus, after this game, Big East play starts, and anything can happen in that conference

Rutgers Scarlet Knights at Arkansas Razorbacks, 7 p.m. ET ESPNU: There will never be a better chance to get a win against an SEC West team for Rutgers than today. The Scarlet Knights travel to Fayetteville to take on the depleted Razorbacks and their broke coach tonight in a chance to get a meaningful nonconference victory, which would be No. 4 on the season.

Michigan at Notre Dame, 7:30 p.m. ET NBC

LSU at Auburn, 7 p.m. ET ESPN
