Fantasy Football Start/Sit Week 3: New York Jets Edition

After two weeks of the NFL season, fantasy owners are starting to get a sense of what kind of team they have. Once Week 3 is completed on Monday night, the picture will be even clearer.

Here is your guide fantasy guide to the New York Jets for their Week 3 matchup in Miami against the Dolphins.

Quarterback: The Dolphins come into the game tied for 30th in the league versus the pass, allowing 627 yards through the air in two games. On paper, any opposing quarterback would be a must-start fantasy player, except Mark Sanchez does not play on paper.

In two games, it has been two different Sanchez' performances, as he continues to be consistent at being inconsistent. After throwing for three TDs in an Opening Week rout of Buffalo, the Sanchise came crashing back to Earth in Pittsburgh, completing just 10-of-27 passes for 138 yards and a score.

Since it is only Week 3 and there has not been a major quarterback injury thus far, you surely have a better option than Sanchez. Sit him!

Running Back: Shonn Greene underwent concussion tests twice in Sunday's loss at Pittsburgh and once again on Monday, but the fourth-year back from Iowa said he is ready for Miami. The Fish are fourth in the NFL against the run, and with Sanchez struggling, expect the Dolphins to load the box to stop Greene. Sit him!

Receivers: Santonio Holmes and Stephen Hill will go as far as Sanchez takes them. Holmes, always a threat to explode at his QB on the sidelines, has been targeted 19 times in two games, but he has only seven receptions for 96 yards. So the balls are coming his way - he just needs to find a way to catch more of them.

Hill burst on the scene with a two-TD effort in Week 1 only to disappear and notch a goose egg last week versus the Steelers. The Dolphins pass defense is the polar opposite of the one in Pittsburgh, so a good game out of either receiver is not out of the question. Start them both!

Defense/Special Teams: Last week, the Jets defense recorded three sacks against one of the toughest QBs to bring down in NFL history, Ben Roethlisberger. Imagine how they will fare against rookie signalcaller Ryan Tannehill. Gang Green had three INTs and two scores in Week 1, but fell back to earth last week in Steeltown. Expect Rex Ryan to have a couple of tricks up his sleeve for rookie coach Joe Philbin and his first-year quarterback. Start them!
