The New York Red Bulls have been notorious for slow starts this season. It's come back to haunt them on several occasions, and they can't afford to make the same mistake when they meet Sporting Kansas City on the pitch Wednesday night at Red Bull Arena.
New York has dug themselves into holes early and often this season, allowing eight goals within the first eight minutes of their matches. They can't afford to get off to a start like that against one of the most physical teams in the MLS who also boast one of the stingiest defenses. There's just too much on the line.
Sporting KC enters the match in first place in the Eastern Conference Standings, but a victory could vault the Red Bulls into that spot. New York currently sits in third place in the standings being Sporting KC and the Chicago Fire. The Red Bulls sit just two points behind KC and one point behind the Fire who are idle.
Game Date: Wednesday, Sept. 19
Kickoff Time: 7 p.m. ET
TV Schedule: MSG+
Streaming: MLS Live
