Following their win against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, the New York Giants made a change to their practice squad roster on Monday. The Giants terminated the contract of center Scott Wedige and signed offensive tackle Matt McCants to fill the open practice squad spot.
McCants will be making his second appearance on the practice squad this season. McCants was released during the final wave of roster cuts, then signed to the Giants practice squad a day later. He spent over a week on the roster before being released last Monday in favor of Wedige. Now, a week later, New York reversed the move, signing McCants and releasing Wedige.
The Giants selected McCants in the sixth round of the 2012 NFL Draft. Wedige spent training camp with the Arizona Cardinals.
