NFL Odds Week 2: Jets Vs. Steelers

The New York Jets haven't silenced all criticism with their 48-point outburst in a win over the Buffalo Bills, as they're underdogs by nearly a touchdown as they head into a Week 2 matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The slight by oddsmakers might be a little bit less unfounded than people worrying whether the Jets would score a touchdown in 2012 after a dreadful offensive performance in the preseason. Despite a Week 1 loss at the hands of Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos, nobody doubts the Steelers are one of the best squads the AFC has to offer. Their defense is as strong as ever, and the team looks to get back Rashard Mendenhall after struggling to move the ball on the ground with backup Isaac Redman in Week 1.

That leaves the Jets as the perceived lesser team heading into the matchup, and after using criticism as fuel in their first game, perhaps that's a good thing for the team's fans.

Here's the lines heading into Sunday's game:

Opening line: Steelers -6.5

Current line: Steelers -6

Money lines: Pittsburgh -250, Jets +210

Over/under: 41.5
