On Thursday, the American women's soccer team gets a shot at the gold medal and a chance to rewrite their crushing lost from the 2011 Women's World Cup when they take on Japan in a rematch of that game. Last year, they lost on penalty kicks.
Also on the schedule for the 2012 London Olympics on Thursday are a host of track and field events with a medal on the line as well as the decathlon. Team USA women's basketball can advance to the finals with a win Thursday over Australia.
