Men's 110-Meter Hurdles: USA's Jeff Porter Misses Finals

The Olympic journey of Team USA hurdler Jeff Porter came to an end Wednesday, as the Somerset, N.J. native failed to qualify for the finals of the 110-meter hurdles competition at the 2012 London games. The finals of the event will be held at 4:15 p.m. ET and can be seen on NBCOlympics.com.

Porter, who was competing in his first ever Olympics, made it past the qualifying stage after he finished the race in 13.53 seconds, which was the third-best time in Heat 4. However, Porter failed to make it to the finals after he ran a 13.41 in the semifinals, which was just the fifth-fastest time in Heat 3. Porter needed to finish in the top three to move on.

In the finals, the United States will be represented by Jason Richardson and Aries Merritt, who both came in first place in their respective semifinal heats.
