Equestrian Individual Show Jumping Final: USA's McLain Ward, Reed Kessler Fail To Medal

The equestrian individual show jumping final concluded at the 2012 London Olympic on Wednesday, and Steve Guerdat of Switzerland took home the gold medal. Riding the horse Nino Des Buissonnets, Guerdat finished ahead of the Netherlands' Gerco Schroder and Ireland's Cian O'Connor, who each won the silver and bronze medal, respectability.

Rich Fellers, who rode the horse Flexible, was the best finishing rider for the Americans as he finished in eighth place. Meanwhile, McLain Ward, a native of Mt. Kisco, N.Y. and rider of Antares, was the second-best finisher for Team USA, as he placed in a tie for 29th.

Armonk, N.Y. native Reed Kessler, rider of Cylana, finished in a tie for 47th. Neither rider will be competing in any more events in London, and both will be leaving without a medal.
