The U.S. won seven medals (1 gold, 4 silver, 2 bronze) on Tuesday at the 2012 London Olympics but was not able to catch China in either gold medals or the overall medal count lead. China led all nations with nine medals on Tuesday, including three golds.
Aly Raisman won the U.S.' lone gold medal on Tuesday in women's gymnastics floor exercise. She also took home a bronze medal in the balance beam event. Kellie Wells had the other bronze in women's 100-meter hurdles. Dawn Harper finished ahead of Wells in the event and won the silver medal. Erik Kynard (men's high jump), Sarah Hammer (women's omnium, cycling) and Leo Manzano (men's 1500-meter, track) won the silver medals for the U.S. team.
