For the New York Mets, the future is now. And for the third time this season, rookie Matt Harvey will get a start as he tries to help the Mets earn a series victory Sunday, when they take on the San Diego Padres at PETCO Park (4:05 p.m. ET on SNY).
Harvey (1-1, 1.59 ERA) will be making his third start of his career. His first featured 11 strike outs, the most ever by a Mets pitcher in his debut, and a victory, while the second was highlighted by seven strike outs and a loss. Harvey will oppose veteran Jason Marquis (4-6, 4.08 ERA), who will looking to improve on his three-inning, five-run performance in his last start.
