The New York Jets announced their final seven cuts on Friday night, bringing the roster to the league threshold at 53. All seven players were waived, and they are :
- Tackle Paul Cornick
- Cornerback Donnie Fletcher
- Running Back Terrance Ganaway
- Wide Receiver Royce Pollard
- Linebacker Ricky Sapp
- Tight End Hayden Smith
- Wide Receiver Jordan White
Pollard was dealing with a shoulder injury, but the other six players could be moved to the practice squad. White and Ganaway join the previously released Robert T. Griffin as three 2012 draft picks who were roster casualties on Friday. All three were drafted in the sixth round or later, but Ganaway was, of course, the only player to score a touchdown for the Jets in their four preseason games.
The Jets will open the regular season on September 9, hosting the Buffalo Bills.
