The New York Yankees look to extend their lead in the American League East as they start a three-game series against the Seattle Mariners Friday night at Yankee Stadium.

CC Sabathia (10-3, 3.57 ERA) will get the start for the Yankees, looking to rebound from his worst start in over two months against the Boston Red Sox. Sabathia gave up eight hits and six runs in six innings of work in New York's 8-6 loss to Boston on July 28.

The Mariners will counter with Kevin Millwood, (4-8, 3.90 ERA), who was excellent in his last start against the Kansas City Royals. Millwood gave up just six hits and one unearned run in 6-1/3 innings in the Mariners' 4-3 win over the Royals on July 28.
