Giants-Patriots Final Score: New York Tops New England, 6-3

Lawrence Tynes kicked a 32-yard field goal with 1:03 remaining to give the New York Giants a 6-3 victory over the New England Patriots Wednesday night in the preseason finale for both teams.

The game looked like it unfortunately might be heading to overtime until Giants defensive end Adewale Ojomo sacked New England quarterback Brian Hoyer, forcing a a fumble that Marcus Thomas of the Giants recovered and returned to New England's 20-yard line with 2:27 to play.

After Tynes' field goal New England moved to the New York 40-yard line, but a deep pass by Hoyer was intercepted by New York cornerback Laron Scott with 12 seconds left to play.

Ojomo, an undrafted free agent defensive end, continued his bid for a roster spot with three tackles along with his sack and forced fumble.

Eli Manning played a little more than a quarter for the Giants, completing 4-of-8 passes for 29 yards. Backup David Carr went 11-for-18 for 136 yards.

Andre Brown carries 14 times for 55 yards for the Giants. He also caught two passes for 22 yards. Da'Rel Scott carried nine times for 32 yards and had an 18-yard reception.

Ramses Barden caught four passes for 31 yards.

Defensively, Spencer Paysinger and Dwayne Hendricks each had six tackles. Matt Broha and Craig Marshall, both dfensive ends, each registered 1.5 sacks.

The Giants open the regular season next Wednesday in the NFL Kickoff game against the Dallas Cowboys.
