The U.S. Open will feature action from both the first and second rounds of the year's final major tournament on Wednesday, as top seeds including Victoria Azarenka, Andy Murray and Maria Sharapova take the court on Day 3.
American John Isner will also hit Arthur Ashe Court for his first match of the tournament, as the No. 9 player attempts to improve upon his quarterfinal showing at last year's U.S. Open. Isner takes on Belgium's seasoned veteran Xavier Malisse at around 1 p.m. on Wednesday.
Another seasoned veteran from Belgium, Kim Clijsters, will also appear at Arthur Ashe later in the day, taking on Great Britain's Laura Robson in the final match of the day session at Billie Jean King National Tennis Center's center court.
Night tennis at Arthur Ashe will feature Murray and Sharapova looking to move onto the third round of the U.S. Open. Sharapova has only advanced past the third round three times in eight appearances in Flushing Meadows.
