2012 U.S. Open Scores: Andy Roddick Advances Tuesday

Andy Roddick advanced to the second round of the 2012 U.S. Open on Tuesday afternoon by defeating Rhyne Williams in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4, 6-4. Roddick easily handled Williams by collecting 20 aces to seven in addition to winning 66% of his first serve shots.

Williams (who entered the tournament as a qualifier), ended the match with 23 unforced errors in comparison to Roddick's 14 and failed to win any break points, while Roddick managed to win three.

Roddick will face the winner of the opening round match between Carlos Berlocq of Argentina and Bernard Tomic of Australia, which is scheduled to take place on Tuesday night at 6 p.m., ET.
