NFL Roster Cuts 2012: Jets Part Ways With Josh Brown

Nick Folk has apparently won the New York Jets kicking competition. On Monday morning, the team eleased kicker Josh Brown, according to Dov Kleiman.

With this move, the Jets have inched closer to trimming their roster down to 75 players by the 4 p.m. ET deadline.

Brown is an accomplished NFL veteran who has previously kicked for the Seattle Seahawks and St. Louis Rams. The 33-year-old did send out the following tweet after finding out that he had been let go:

"Best of luck to the 2012 Jets... Thanks for one of the most memorable camps in 10 yrs."

Give Brown credit, at least he's not a bitter soul.

With Brown's release, that makes three high-profile kickers hitting the market in the last two days with Neil Rackers and Billy Cundiff also becoming available.
