Bears Vs. Giants Score Update: David Wilson Steals Show In 1st Half, New York Leads 17-7

After one half at MetLife Stadium, the New York Giants lead the Chicago Bears 17-7. Giants rookie running back David Wilson was certainly the highlight of the first half as the Virginia Tech product lit up the Bears defense for 49 yards on five carries. Wilson got the start for the injured Ahmad Bradshaw and the 2012 1st Round pick took full advantage of the opportunity.

Wilson busted one outside on his second carry of the night for a 20-yard gain. The speedy and versatile back was also the recipient of two Eli Manning throws, which he converted for a total of 26 receiving yards. In what is often considered a "dress rehearsal" for the season, Wilson was the most positive takeaway in the first 30 minutes.

Despite Wilson's productivity, the Giants had to settle for a field goal on their second possession. After a 21-yard strike from Jay Cutler to Brandon Marshall, the G-men would break through for their first touchdown of the game to re-take the lead at 10-7. The 10-play, 59-yard drive took up more than six minutes and finished with an 11-yard touchdown pass to Ramses Barden on the left side.

The Giants would extend the lead to 17-7 just before the half when running back Da'Rel Scott blocked a Bears punt attempt. New York recovered on the Chicago 10-yard line and after a pass interference call drawn by Barden in the end zone, Andre Brown punched it in from one yard out.

The one low point for the Giants in the first half was an injury to cornerback Prince Amukamara. The second year-player was injured while trying to tackle Brandon Marshall and was carted off the field. The Giants were calling it a lower leg injury, but it appeared to be an issue with the same foot that caused him to miss a majority of the 2011 season. But thankfully for the Giants, reports out of the locker room indicate that x-rays were negative.
