Brooklyn Nets 2012 Free Agency Update: Donte Greene Signs, According To Report

The Brooklyn Nets have signed former Sacramento Kings small forward Donte Greene, according to Marc Spears of Yahoo Sports. Greene is entering his fifth season out of Syracuse and had been a sporadic starter for the Kings in his first four NBA campaigns.

Nets Daily, SB Nation's Brooklyn Nets site, provided some background information on Donte Greene's career:

The 24-year-old Greene is 6-foot-11 and has averaged 17 minutes and 6.1 points over four seasons with Sacramento, shooting just 41 percent from the field and 30 percent from 3-point range. His second season was his best, starting 50 games, averaging 8.5 points, and shooting 38 percent on threes. He was a fan favorite in Sacramento.

Greene is expected to be the backup at small forward to the recently re-signed Gerald Wallace. He was originally a first-round pick by the Memphis Grizzlies back in 2008.
