Alex Rodriguez, Nick Swisher Voted Phoniest Players in Baseball By Peers

It seems like their peers think the New York Yankees must be the phoniest team in baseball. When asked by Sports Illustrated to name the phoniest players in the sport, their peers voted Alex Rodriguez and Nick Swisher of the Yankees one-two on the list.

Rodriguez got the top dishonor, with 26 percent of the vote. Swisher got 14 percent of the vote. Players also voted A-Rod the most overrated at his position.

↵

This really can't come as a surprise. A-Rod seemingly has few friends in the game. His steroid admission and some of the unnecessary attention he has drawn to himself over the years make him an easy target in a poll like this.

Swisher? He is just a hard-working, fun-loving guy whose antics with fans and constant finger-pointing to the sky every time he gets on base can rub people the wrong way. He is, however, the kind of player guys love to have on their own team.
