2012 Olympic Games: Rebecca Soni Wins Gold, World Record in Women's 200m Breaststroke Final

Rebecca Soni has set her second world record in as many days as she won the gold medal run in the finals of the Women's 200-meter Breaststroke at the 2012 Olympic Games in London.

The Freehold Borough, NJ native won the gold with a time of 2:19.59, breaking her own world record of 2:20 set just Wednesday night in qualifying. This is the second straight gold medal in the 200m breaststroke for Soni, who also won in Beijing four years ago.

Japan's Satomi Suzuki won the silver after finishing more than a second behind Soni with a time of 2:20.72, while Russia's Efimova won the bronze with a time of 2:20.92. The United States' Micah Lawrence finished the final in sixth place, well out of medal contention.
