Giants-Jets Injury Update: Stars Out For Both Sides

The NFL doesn't require teams to release injury reports before preseason games, but the New York Giants and New York Jets will be without some key pieces.

For the Jets, wide receiver Santonio Holmes will be out as expected due to a rib injury. This will be the second contest in a row he's watching from the sidelines.

The other injured Jets are as follows, according to their official twitter:

OUT: NT Sione Pouha (back), WR Chaz Schilens (ankle), WR Jeremy Kerley (hamstring), S Eric Smith (knee), CB Ryan Steed (knee), LB Ricky Sapp (ankle), OT Dennis Landolt (Patellar tendon).

QUESTIONABLE: WR Stephen Hill (finger)

Kerley says he's still available to this point, while head coach Rex Ryan has ruled him out, according to the official team site.

For the Giants, the injury list comes from Big Blue View:

OUT: WR Hakeem Nicks (knee), CB Terrell Thomas (knee), LB Jacquian Williams (hip), CB Brandon Bing (hamstring), CB Michael Coe (hamstring), TE Travis Beckum (knee), DL Chris Canty (knee), OL Will Beatty (back), DL Marvin Austin (back), DL Shaun Rogers (blood clot), LB Michael Boley (hamstring)
