Sione Pouha Expected To Miss Rest Of Preseason For New York Jets

New York Jets defensive tackle Sione Pouha will likely miss the rest of the preseason. The veteran out of Utah indicated Wednesday morning that he continues to have a tight back and was not expecting to play in the remaining three preseason games, via Brian Costello of the New York Post

Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reported that an MRI revealed no structural damage in the back, but Pouha is still working to rehab the tightness. Pouha has had a couple doctors check out the back, but the main treatment so far has been rehabbing in a pool.

Pouha has played all seven years of his career with the Jets and started 15 of 16 games last season, accumulating 58 total tackles and one sack.

The Jets' next preseason game will be Saturday night against their MetLife Stadium co-tenant, the Giants. Despite the missed time in August, he is planning to ready for the opener on Sept. 9 against the Bills.
