Juan Pablo Montoya won pole position Saturday at Watkins Glen, and will lead the field to start the 2012 Finger Lakes 335 on Sunday. Montoya also won pole position at Pocono last week. He ultimately finished a disappointing 20th place, however.
Montoya, a highly-accomplished F-1 driver, set a track record of 69.438 seconds, topping out at 127.020 miles per hour. He edged out Kyle Busch by .05 seconds, who also technically broke the previous track record set by him in 2011. Jimmie Johnson, Brad Keselowski and Marcos Ambrose all broke Busch's previous record as well to round out the Top 5. Ryan Newman, Tony Stewart, Clint Bower, Martin Truex Jr. and Jamie McMurray will start the Sprint Cup race from positions six through ten.
