Deron Williams Had The Right Idea About Dwight Howard

Brooklyn Nets star Deron Williams is apparently like many of the rest of us when it came to the Dwight Howard saga. By the end of the 'Dwightmare,' Williams really didn't care anymore.

"Mentally I wasn’t in the Dwight sweepstakes anymore. It got kinda old. I’m happy for him. I know he wanted to get out of Orlando. He did that and he’s going to a great franchise so I wish him the best of luck."

The Daily News called the Magic's trade of Howard to the Lakers "head-scratching," saying Orlando did not receive any of the top three players (other than Howard) who changed teams in the deal, adding "The Magic just refused to deal Howard to the Nets."

Pro Basketball Talk says Orlando's refusal to send Howard to Brooklyn might have come from the Magic feeling Brooklyn had tampered with Howard.

Whatever. When it comes to the he-said, he-said nature of the 'Dwightmare,' I'm in the Williams camp. Howard is in LA, not Brooklyn. How it happened doesn't matter anymore, or shouldn't matter to Brooklyn fans. Plain and simple, it's just time to move on.
