The New York Mets (54-59) look to rebound against the Atlanta Braves (65-47) in Game 2 of their three game series Saturday night (7:10 p.m. ET, SNY). Atlanta took Game 1 of the series with a 4-0 victory Friday night. Johan Santana (6-7 3.98 ERA) will start for the Mets, facing Kris Medlen (2-1 2.37 ERA) for the Braves.
Santana is returning to the team from the disabled list, having last pitched in the big leagues on July 20. He was 0-3 with a 13.50 ERA in the three starts immediately prior to going on the DL with a sprained right ankle, including a 6-1 loss to Atlanta that saw Santana give up six runs in five innings. The Mets will need to find some way to crack Atlanta's pitching; they had only three hits in Friday's loss and have been outscored 48-22 while losing their last six games against the Braves.
