Friday saw Team USA collect several medals in the 2012 London Olympics, solidifying their overall lead in the medal count. The U.S. now holds 95 total medals, ahead of China with 81 and Russia with 59.
Team USA had two gold medals on Friday, one from Jordan Burroughs in the men's 74kg wrestling event, and one from the women's 4x100m relay track team. Tianna Madison, Allyson Felix, Bianca Knight and Carmelita Jeter were the squad in the relay, and they dominated the event while setting a new world record time of 40.82. Paige McPherson added to the medal total with a bronze in the women's 67kg taekwondo event, and the men's 4x400m relay track team took home a silver medal.
Team USA men's basketball was in action, and they advanced in the semifinals with a 109-83 victory over Argentina. They now move on to face Spain for the gold medal in a game taking place on Sunday.
