Lawrence Taylor Talks About Giants' Current Pass-Rushers

Lawrence Taylor, the legendary New York Giant who redefined the linebacker position, has never been shy with an opinion. When it comes to his own abilities, and those of the current Giants defensive line, he still isn't.

"Let me tell you: if I was playing with those two guys [Tuck and Umenyiora], I’d have 40 sacks a year and I ain’t kidding you," Taylor wrote in an email to The Record last week. "There isn’t a discussion about this collective group. They are clearly the best in football today."

↵

Taylor was also not shy on the subject of whether or not Jason Pierre-Paul could be the next LT.

↵

"I’ve heard for 20 years about the next LT and last I checked there hasn’t been one," Taylor wrote. "I have seen a few games over the past two years and listen, the kid is impressive. He has everything that you would draw up for a DE: size, speed, technique."

Reality is there will never be another LT. The Giants, though, are thrilled with their new JPP ... and the rest of their stable of pass-rushers.
