Might as well cancel the 2012 NFL season. Predictionmachine.com recently simulated the entire season 50,000 times and determined that neither the New York Giants nor the New York Jets will win the Super Bowl next February. Prediction Machine says the Philadelphia Eagles will be crowned champions.
The Eagles won the Super Bowl in 18 percent of the 50,000 simulations, followed by the New England Patriots (14.2 percent), the Green Bay Packers and Houston Texans (9.2 percent) and the Pittsburgh Steelers (7.2 percent).
PredictionMachine has the New York Giants making the playoffs as the sixth seed in the NFC, but losing to the third-seeded San Francisco 49ers in the wild-card round. The simulation finds the New York Jets missing out on the AFC playoffs for a second straight season.
↵PredictionMachine gives the Giants a 21.4 percent chance of winning the NFC East and a 4.7 percent chance of winning the Super Bowl. The Jets came out with a 13.5 percent chance of winning the AFC East and a 1.9 percent chance of winning the Super Bowl.
