NBA Free Agency Rumors: Knicks To Meet With Marcus Camby, Wait On Pablo Prigioni Decision

After starting what seemed to be a new era of New York Knicks basketball the past few years, the franchise has seemingly turned back the clock over the past few days and will continue to do so Sunday. After signing veteran point guard Jason Kidd on Thursday, the Knicks are now meeting with and expected to sign (via sign-and-trade) Houston Rockets and former New York center Marcus Camby today.

Camby is rumored to be favoring the Knicks over the Miami Heat, and this could be a perfect time for a return to the Big Apple, says MSG Network studio analyst Alan Hahn:

At 38, Camby isn't the spry athlete he was in his first stint with the Knicks, but he can play a important role as an experienced interior defender and rebounder behind Tyson Chandler. Coincidentally, the last time the Knicks won a playoff series was when Camby was the team's backup center in 2000.

Meanwhile, the Knicks could also be adding another veteran guard early in the week, as Spanish point guard Pablo Prigioni, 35, is expected to make a decision on which NBA team he will play for on Monday or Tuesday.
