Free agent center and former New York Knick Marcus Camby will meet with the Knicks this weekend, according to a report (via Ultimate Rockets).
Camby will probably not receive an offer from the Houston Rockets, where he finished last season, equal to what he could receive elsewhere, as the Rockets are are trying to sign Omer Asik from the Chicago Bulls when the free agency moratorium ends on July 11. Camby has to wait until next Wednesday to see if the Bulls will match the Rockets' offer. In the meantime, he will meet with the Miami Heat and Knicks.
Camby, 38, played for New York from 1998-2002. In 24.1 minutes per game with the Rockets last season (19 games), Camby averaged 7.1 points, 9.2 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game. Camby also spent a less productive 40 games with the Portland Trail Blazers, which reduced his season averages to 4.9 points, 9 rebounds, 1.4 blocks in 22.9 minutes.
