Team USA Basketball Vs. Tunisia Halftime Score: U.S. Leads, 46-33

Team USA Basketball leads Tunisia at halftime, 46-33, at the 2012 London Olympics in men's Group A play on Tuesday. New York area athletes had plenty to do with the first half lead for the U.S.

New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony came off the bench and was second on the team in points with seven in a perfect first half from the floor. He made both field goals, one of which was a three-pointer, and both free throws. Knicks center Tyson Chandler was also perfect from the floor and had six points on three shots. He also had five rebounds. Brooklyn Nets guard Deron Williams scored two points off the bench and had one assist, one steal and one block.

The U.S. trailed in the first half several times to Tunisia which shot 43.8 percent from behind the three-point arc (7-of-16). The U.S., which is a heavy favorite, fell in love with the three-pointer in the half but only hit two out of 12 attempts which kept the scoreline closer than it was expected to be before the game. Despite the poor shooting from three-point range, the U.S. shot 55.9 percent for the half.

Kevin Durant led the U.S. with nine points and seven rebounds. Makrem Ben Romdhane, of Tunisia, led all scorers with 13 first-half points.
