2012 NBA Free Agency: Landry Fields To Sign Offer Sheet With Toronto Raptors, According To Report

Restricted free agent Landry Fields has agreed to an offer sheet for three years with the Toronto Raptors, according to a report from Marc Stein of ESPN on Tuesday.

The terms of the deal are not yet known, but the New York Knicks will have three days to match it as soon as Fields can sign it when the free agent moratorium period ends on July 11.

Fields averaged 8.8 points and 4.2 rebounds for the Knicks this past season, as his production decreased slightly from a solid rookie campaign.

The Knicks have been floating ideas to acquire Steve Nash, with one of them including sending Fields to the Phoenix Suns in a sign-and-trade. Though no free agency agreement can be official until July 11, Fields' signing with the Raptors would hurt New York's chances of landing Nash.
