Jongoh Jin of Korea has taken the Gold Medal in the Medal in the Men's 10m Air Pistol shooting event at the 2012 London Olympics. Luca Tesconi of Italy had the second highest score, and Andrija Zlatic of Serbia rounds out the podium. Team USA had two athletes in the event, including Rochester, NY, native Jason Turner. Turner finished 34th in the event, posting a score of 569 and failing to advance out of the qualifying round.
Team USA's other member didn't fare much better than Turner. Daryl Szarenski finished 23rd, with a score of 575. For the sake of context, the lowest qualifying score was 583 and the Gold Medal winner posted a qualifying score of 588. The 10m Air Pistol was Turner's sole event in London, leaving him to enjoy the rest of the Games as a spectator. Szarenski will go on to compete in the Men's 50m Air Pistol competition, taking place Sunday, Aug. 5.
