London 2012 Olympics: New York's Women's Fencing Representatives Eliminated In Qualifiers

Team USA had three representatives in the Women's Individual Foil Fencing event at the 2012 Olympic Games, including two from the New York area. After the second qualifying round all but one have been eliminated.

Nicole Ross and Nzingha Prescod were New York locals representing the U.S. in the event, but both lost in the Round of 32. Ross had a match against Ines Boubakri of Tunisia while Prescod faced Aida Mohamed of Hungary. Both women will have another chance at gold in the Women's Team Foil event, taking place Thursday Aug. 2.

Team USA's Lee Kiefer remains the sole American in contention. She triumphed over Monica Peterson of Canada to advance to the Round of 16.
