The 2012 Summer Olympics are set to start on Friday night with the Opening Ceremonies, meaning it's time start paying some serious attention to Team USA.
One of the strongest sports in recent history for the Americans has been volleyball, an event they're expected to do well in once again. The women have been dominant for years, while the men have been climbing to the top, finally winning the Gold Medal in 2008.
While many people know Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh, one name to keep an eye out for is on the men's side, Matthew Anderson.
Anderson is a Buffalo, NY native who went to Penn State, making a name for himself in the volleyball world. At 6-foot-10, the outside hitter can be devastating at the net thanks to his length. Anderson plays professionally, in the Italian League A1 for CasaModena.
Anderson is also known as one of the better servers in the world, with both accuracy and velocity being part of his arsenal.
