The American League East-leading New York Yankees (54-34) host the last-place Toronto Blue Jays (45-44) for a three-game series beginning Monday night at Yankee Stadium (7:05 p.m. ET, YES).
The Yankees begin the series having just taken two of three from the Los Angeles Angels. The Yankees are 27-10 since June 1, and have gone from 5.5 games behind in the division on May 22 to eight games in front as play begins Monday. The Yankees' .614 winning percentage is the best in baseball.

The good news continues for the Yankees this week as ace left-hander CC Sabathia will return from the disabled list Tuesday night to pitch the second game of the series. Sabathia (9-3, 3.45 ERA) has been out since June 24 with a groin injury.
Before that, however, the up-and-down Phil Hughes (9-7, 4.33 ERA) will pitch Monday for the Yankees. The Blue Jays will counter with Henderson Alvarez (5-7, 4.36 ERA).
