A furious fourth-quarter comeback led the Boston Celtics to an 82-73 win over the Brooklyn Nets in Orlando Summer League play on Tuesday.
↵Former New Mexico State star Jonathan Gibson led the Celtics’ late charge, scoring 15 of his 17 points in the final 10-minute stanza to help Boston turn their 59-52 deficit after three into a nine-point victory. Second-year man E’Twaun Moore added 15 and five rebounds for Boston, while first-round pick Jared Sullinger had eight points and 12 boards, narrowly missing his second straight double-double.
↵Brooklyn was once again paced by Al Thornton, who had 16 points (despite shooting just 3-for-13 from the field) and eight rebounds in his 27 minutes. MarShon Brooks, who did not hit a field goal in Monday’s opener, scored 13 on 5-for-11 shooting, and Adam Morrison chipped with 10 points and 10 boards.
↵With the loss, the Nets dropped to 0-2 in the Orlando Summer League. Their next tilt comes Wednesday at 3 p.m. against Philadelphia (0-2), who will also be looking for their first OSL win after narrow losses to Indiana and Utah.
