2012 NCAA Baseball Tournament, Baton Rouge Super Regional: Stony Brook (No. 4) vs. LSU (No. 1)

The Stony Brook University baseball team make its first-ever appearance in the Super Regional Round of the NCAA Baseball Tournament this weekend against the LSU Tigers. The Seawolves will begin a three-game series on Friday to determine which team will advance to the final eight of the College World Series.

Stony Brook is the lowest seed remaining in the tournament. The four seed emerged from the Coral Gables Region. Stony Brook (50-12) has the most wins of any team in the country and nation's best winning percentage (.806). The Seawolves are ranked No. 25 in the country in the Baseball America poll, the first time they have been ranked. They are ranked No. 16 in the Collegiate Baseball poll and No. 18 in the NCBWA poll, their highest-ever rankings in either poll.

LSU advanced from the Baton Rouge Regional, winning all three contests they played, as the one-seed. Of the 16 remaining teams, 10 were the one seeds in their respective regions.

The TV times for the LSU-Stony Brook series is as follows:
