Wimbledon 2012 Scores And Results: James Blake Falls In First Round

Yonkers native James Blake had a short stay at the All England Club for The Championships at Wimbledon 2012. He lost in the first round to Germany's Benjamin Becker, 6-7 (4), 7-5, 6-0, 6-4.

The loss to Becker was the first of Blake's career after he took all four previous meetings. This is the fourth year in a row that Blake will leave Wimbledon after the first round. His best performance at Wimbledon was when he reached the third round in back-to-back years (2006, 2007).

Overall, American men were just 3-3 on the first day of the tournament. Ryan Harrison, Michael Russell and Ryan Sweeting won. Harrison will have to play the No. 1 seed Novak Djokovic, the defending Wimbledon champion, in his next match. Americans John Isner and Donald Young also lost.
