Stony Brook Vs. UCF Final Score: Seawolves Fall to Knights 9-8 in NCAA Baseball Championships

The Stony Brook Seawolves fell to the UCF Knights in a back-and-forth, high scoring affair Saturday night by a final score of 9-8. Both teams traded runs early in the game, as the Knights jumped out to a 5-0 lead after two innings only to see the Seawolves tie things up in the fourth.

The difference in the game proved to be in the sixth and seventh innings, when the Knights scored a combined four runs to jump out to a 9-5 advantage. Despite a three-run comeback by Stony Brook in the eighth, it was too little too late for the Seawolves.

Stony Brook pitcher Brandon McNitt allowed eight runs (six earned) over six innings while striking out three. The Seawolves were aided by center fielder Travis Jankowski, who finished 2-4 with a double, a home run, and five RBIs.

Stony Brook's loss drops them to 1-1 in the Coral Gables regional. They will next take on Missouri St. in an elimination game for both teams.
