Iman Shumpert Injury Update: New York Knicks Guard Targets January Return From ACL Surgery

New York Knicks guard Iman Shumpert is targeting a January return to the court, he told the New York post at a Sprint NBA Nation event at South Street Seaport on Sunday.

Shumpert, who tore his ACL during the first round of the NBA playoffs, told the Post his left knee is recovering nicely:

"It feels great," Shumpert said of his knee. "[The rehab] is going well. I've got a great training staff with me, and I trust them 100 percent. I'm going to them Monday through Friday, and on the weekends I just ice it and do regular stuff."

Shumpert was selected to the NBA's All-Rookie First Team after averaging 9.5 points with 1.71 steals per game during his first season out of Georgia Tech. The 6-foot-5, 220-pound guard routinely defended the opposition's best player.
