2012 U.S. Open Golf Prize Money: Webb Simpson Earns $1.44 Million

Webb Simpson made some spending money over the weekend. He can feel free to have a very big wish list when he goes to the mall.

Simpson won his first major by conquering the 2012 U.S. Open at the Olympic Club in San Francisco on Sunday evening. Simpson was paid a handsome sum for his troubles, to the tune of $1.44 million. Not too shabby for four rounds of golf.

The rest of the top ten finishers also took home a little bit more than a gift bag, all earning in the six-figure range. After playing on one of the toughest courses in recent memory, the purses were well-deserved.
