Jim Furyk is at 1-over through nine holes at the 2012 U.S. Open, and even overall as hangs on to a one stroke lead over Webb Simpson. Furyk has parred every single hole at the Olympic Club outside of a bogey on No. 6 on Sunday. He has the back nine left to play.
Simpson has shot 2-under through 11 holes, coming off an impressive 68 on Saturday. He is on a particularly strong tear at the moment, having birdied four of his last six holes after starting the day plus-2 through five.
Michael Thompson and John Peterson are well within striking distance, just two shot off the lead. Thompson finished the day at 3-under to give himself a chance at a U.S. Open title from the clubhouse, presuming he gets some help from the two men ahead of him. Peterson is 1-under Sunday with three holes left to play.
