Stony Brook Vs. UCLA, 2012 CWS Scores: Stony Brook Falls To UCLA, 9-1

The Stony Brook Seawolves lost to the UCLA Bruins by a score of 9-1 Friday in their opening game of the 2012 College World Series. Stony Brook is the tournament's Cinderella story, but Friday night's game saw them unable to capture the magic that they had in their upset of the LSU Tigers.

UCLA jumped out to an early lead in the game, scoring five runs in the bottom of the first inning. Stony Brook starting pitcher Tyler Johnson lasted only 2 1/3 innings, giving up seven runs. The first inning saw the Bruins score five runs on five hits and a walk.

Stony Brook's offense didn't have much of an answer, with the Seawolves only run of the game coming in the third on a solo home run by catcher Pat Cantwell.

A full box score for the game can be found at the official NCAA site. The tournament is double elimination, so Stony Brook will next play the loser of Friday night's Arizona vs. Florida State matchup.
