Patrick Ewing To Interview For Charlotte Bobcats Coaching Job -- Report

Patrick Ewing, the legendary New York Knicks center, has made no secret in recent seasons of his desire to be an NBA head coach. An assistant with the Orlando Magic, Ewing has practically begged -- to no avail -- for the Knicks job.

Now comes word that Ewing is going to get an interview for the vacant Charlotte Bobcats job. Yahoo's Adrian Wojnarowski believes Ewing "will turn out to be a serious candidate for the opening."

If the Hall of Fame center can't get this job -- leading a woeful franchise owned by Ewing's friend Michael Jordan -- you have to wonder if the NBA head-coaching door will ever open for him.

Last offseason Ewing was considered a possibility for the Detroit Pistons job -- one that utlimately went to former New Jersey Nets coach Lawrence Frank. Ewing has has been an NBA assistant for eight seasons, first with the Houston Rockets and now with the Magic.
