French Open Results 2012, Round 2: Top Seeds Novak Djokovic, Victoria Azarenka Advance

Round 2 of the 2012 French Open has seen most of the top seeds advancing on both the men's and women's side. On the men's side the top seeds who have on Wednesday include No. 1 seed Novak Djokovic who won in straight sets over Blaz Kavcic.

No. 3 seeded Roger Federer also moved on by defeating Adrian Ungur winning 6-3, 6-2, 6-7 and 6-3. The one seeded player to have struggled on the men's side was No. 11 seeded Gilles Simon who needed all five sets against Brian Baker. Simon won the first two sets but Baker came back to force a fifth and final set. In that last set Simon was able to cruise victory by winning 6-0 to advance.

On the women's side, No. 1 seeded Victoria Azarenka won in straight sets over Dinah Pfizenmaier. However, Marion Bartoli who is seeded No. 8 was not so fortunate as she fell to Petra Martic.

American Venus Williams will take on No. 3 seeded Agnieszka Radwanska later today.
