Duke Vs. Colgate, 2012 NCAA Men's Lacrosse Tournament: Blue Devils Win, 17-6

The Duke Blue Devils defeated the Colgate Raiders, 17-6, on Sunday at PPL Park in Philadelphia in their Second Round NCAA Lacrosse Tournament game.

Through the first quarter of the game, the score was tied 4-4. Colgate built a 4-2 lead after falling behind 2-1. However, Duke knotted the scored up with two goals in the last 2:35 of the quarter. At the halfway point, Duke led 11-4 after a 7-0 second quarter. The Blue Devils put the game away by scoring four goals over the first five minutes of the third quarter. After the quarter ended, Duke led 17-5. Colgate scored the only goal of the fourth quarter less than a minute in.

Robert Rotanz led Duke with five goals and one assist. Christian Walsh had a hat trick for the Blue Devils. Ryan Walsh led Colgate with three goals.

The semifinals and finals of the tournament will take place at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass. from May 26-May 28. Duke will play Maryland in one semifinal while Loyola (Md.) will face Notre Dame in the other semifinal.
