2012 Preakness Winner: I'll Have Another Passes Bodemeister Again, Wins Preakness

The 2012 Preakness followed the same script as the 2012 Kentucky Derby. The race's favorite, Bodemesiter, jumped out to an early lead, and lead for the majority of the race. However; in the final stretch I'll Have Another made its move, surpassing Bodemesiter in the final few yards to win the second leg of the Triple Crown.

It's been 34 years since a horse has won the prestigious Triple Crown. I'll Have Another will have the opportunity to break that streak at the Belmont Stakes. The last winner of the Triple Crown was 'Affirmed', in 1978.

I'll Have Another is owned by J. Paul Reddam, was ridden by Mario Gutierrez, and trained by Doug F. O'Neill. The horse opened the day with 3/1 odds of winning.

SB Nation New York will have updates, results and more from the 2012 Preakness. SB Nation's horse racing blog And Down The Stretch They Come has you covered for all your horse racing needs.
